His service was in Provo, at his church building and was absolutely beautiful. My uncle Whitney gave the life sketch and I was literally in awe of what an accomplished man my grandfather really was. I had no idea 3/4 the things that were said he had actually done!! To name a few he was named Scientist of the Year, while in dental school as a Sophomore taught the Juniors &Seniors, went back to school to become a Dentist when grandma and him had SIX children!! I can't even imagine! My uncle Syd and Steve both gave talks and it truly depicted the humble, sweet, dedicated man my grandfather was. One thing they both said that really stuck out to me was when grandpa was 5 years old, his father left their family, and 5 years later he passed away so grandpa had never really grown up with a father figure. He said that Heavenly Father became his father and that he grew a deep relationship with him as a consequence. Also in grandpa's library of his home there is a wall full of diplomas and honors and my father once asked him 'Dad, how does it feel to be such an accomplished man?' grandpa replied 'these are only the honors of men son'. What a magnificent example who I could only wish to be like some day. I will miss him and I cherish his example and light in my life.

Your life will benefit from taking the time to do this. I look to you as such an example right now as I think of my own family trials. I love you always.
