on monday, we decided to start digging up our garden plot. we have a big pit behind our little fourplex that is full of weeds and shrubs and trees and just awfulness &we thought it would be perfect. so scott started out first to dig up all the rocks and clay (there are TONS of rocks and all the dirt is mostly horrible clay but.. we're working with what we've got) then it got really cold, started raining, and eventually started hailing. it did that for about two hours (which is unusual for rexburg) and by the time it stopped, the plot scott had dug was flooded. perfect. needless to say, we didn't plant anything that day.

tuesday, we watched one of my friends little girls. we love her. she is so darling. i thought, "oh yeah! i've got this parenting thing down! i'm a nanny now, i know how this works!" i don't. she started crying and crying and i tried to console her but every time she saw my face she cried harder!!! (i hope my kids like my face..) so scott (the all knowing man he is) put her in her car seat and swung her back and forth till she fell asleep. he is the best. i just have to throw it out there that he is going to be THE best dad ever. i'm serious. he is so caring and nurturing, our kids will love him and he will be so good with them. so the story goes on. she fell asleep. i was sitting on the couch, she wakes and looks straight at me. i get SO scared and nervous and hide my face with my hands and run off. will i be a good mom? who really knows at this point.. it's not looking to promising.

finally, on thursday it was a sunny beautiful day and we decided to plant our babies outside. since we planted them it's gotten into the upper 30's at night and they're aren't looking to happy to be outside but, i'm hoping they'll rough it and come through for us. we planted lettuce, tomatoes, zucchini, onions, and carrots. here's some pics:

ashley, you shouldn't worry about being a good mom...i'm sure you'll be. my friend's baby girl also screams when she's sitting on my lap, so I guess that's not too unusual. hope you get to see your family soon. Miss ya,
Anett
I love Scott swinging the baby. You guys should grow one. And of course you will be the cutest and best Mother. You know that. Well, either you OR Scott knows that, so you're all set. BABIES! So darling. So is your garden. I am jealous of you, please come see me. Again.
I love you.
I love the garden! How on earth did you sneak out of here without us saying good-bye to each other!?! It was great seeing you girls again. Love that you came to visit.
It's so funny that you guys are growing a garden. I guess all those family home evenings Scott spent hoeing in our garden as kids is paying off. I'm so excited to see you guys in just 37 days!!!
