Last weekend we went on a hike up about an hour away from Rexburg (I'm not quite sure where) to Hidden Valley.
[Don't mind my crazy/misshapen eyes, I have pink eye.. again.]
We got there, unpacked and started up the trail. The hike is about 4.5 miles up to a lake where you can swim and play. We began our journey and soon realized we forgot bug spray. My blood must be sweeter or something because I got bit way more than Scott did (so annoying)! We trekked through the hot sticky weather and bugs until we heard thunder and looked up to find clouds rolling in. It started sprinkling but nothing too horrible so we kept on our way, hoping it would stop sooner than later. A few minutes later, when we were about 3 1/2 miles in, the rain just started pouring out of the sky so we found a couple trees for shade and waited out the storm. No big deal that half way through the storm (which lasted about 30 minutes) it started HAILING! Of course the weather chose that day to rain/hail! Here's a video from our nook in the woods:
The weather finally stopped being crazy and we were cold and tired so decided to forgo the lake and head back. To bad the trail had turned into a river of mud/slop! The trek back was not the most fun time we've ever had but, overall it was so fun to hike with Scott. He's such a trooper/the best outdoorsman.
A side note, when we got home, I counted 19 count them NINETEEN bug bites on my body!
Anyways, hope your weekend was grand!

That sounds like a nightmare. Rain is so much more annoying when you're far from home.
